Beginner Russian Kettlebells Class

Tuesday and Thursday 6:30pm-7:30pm, Saturday 10AM

This class is conducted in a small group and requires no experience to join!  You will learn and perform basic kettlebell exercises in a safe and supportive environment.  Focus will be on correct technique especially emphasizing the Turkish Get-Up, the Two Hand Swing, Squat, and Press.  All are welcome! Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a towel and water.  Classes are conducted on mats so you will be training without shoes.  Stop by and watch or take part ASAP and find out how kettlebells are changing people’s bodies—and lives!

Intermediate/Advanced Kettlebell Class

If you have a bit of experience under your belt, and want to take your kettlebell practice to the next level, this is the class for you.  Your instructor, Brian Petty, RKC has been conducting group workouts for six years and has developed a devilish menu of drills to wring every last bit of “fitness” from you!  There is a heavy emphasis on safety and technique—beyond that, the focus is on making shared suffering F-U-N!  If you have tried ‘bells before, come take a class and find out what got you so excited in the first place.

Mixed Martial Arts: Training and Conditioning

SPECIAL NOTE: This class replaces all previous boxing and MMA classes taught at Dragon Gym by Brian Petty.  ALL fighting classes taught by Brian will now be designated Mixed Martial Arts and will always contain a teaching/training component as well as conditioning.  The fighting style practiced could be called MMA, No Holds Barred, eclectic, non-traditional, combat-oriented, etc.—very simply., it is basic fighting. Technique will be based heavily on bare-knuckle boxing, Muay Thai kickboxing, Filipino Combat Escrima, Russian Sombo, and other hard styles.  The emphasis in these classes will generally be on real-world applications but competition training is also available.  Conditioning will be mainly Russian Kettlebell drills, bodyweight exercises, and jump rope.  The ultimate goal will be to enable you to punch, kick, knee, elbow, clinch, take-down, grapple, and submit an opponent as well as defending against the same techniques.
